Our Direction

Since 1865, people have been at the centre of our work.

We remain focused on helping and caring for our clients. Forming close partnerships with them, their families, their communities and responding quickly and positively to their changing needs.

Our Vision

Our Vision encapsulates the BIG difference that we create in our clients’ lives. It is our ultimate goal…

A Fife community where all people living with visual impairment feel valued, included and empowered to thrive.

Our Purpose

Our Purpose guides why we do what we do. It is the reason we started and why we continue our work…

To enrich the lives and communities of people living with visual impairment across Fife.

Our Mission

Our Mission describes the role and tasks of our volunteers and colleagues. It is how we work towards our vision…

To empower people living with visual impairment to live safely and independently through people-focused services, delivered at home, in the community, and via digital platforms.

Our strategic ambitions

  • Ambition 1: We will deliver needs-base services that reflect our unique added value in the communities we service across Fife.

  • Ambition 2: We will work with a range of partners & embrace a co-delivery model to respond to need, including those whose needs are not being met by others; becoming the “go-to” for people living with visual impairment.

  • Ambition 3: We will continue to innovate and test new approaches to accessible and assistive technology, supporting clients and their families to build confidence in its use.

  • Ambition 4: We will continue to strengthen our organisation to ensure that it continues to be fit for purpose as we grow our vision and operational footprint.
