We are absolutely delighted to share that Visions of Hope – 160 Years of Seescape’s Journey in Fife has been officially shortlisted for the 2026 Smiley Charity Film Awards! 🎉
This recognition is a huge milestone for Seescape, and it reflects not only the powerful story behind our 160‑year journey but also the incredible support from our community.
Throughout the voting stages, we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and encouragement from staff, supporters, partner organisations and friends — from sharing the link far and wide to rallying votes across social platforms and networks. As highlighted in internal correspondence, the shortlist was determined entirely by public vote, and every share truly made a difference.
On 11 February, we received the official message announcing that our film is now a finalist in the Longform £500,000–£5 Million category, a testament to the impact of the story we set out to tell.
Being a finalist means the film now proceeds to another public vote. We expect to hear the final results in late April, and while we’re keeping everything crossed, we already feel incredibly proud to have reached this stage.

This film represents so much more than a creative project. It celebrates the experiences, heritage, resilience, and community spirit that define Seescape and the people we support. It also showcases the dedicated work that goes into empowering visually impaired people across Fife — past, present, and future.
To everyone who voted, shared, and supported us: thank you. Your voice helped shine a light on our story, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Stay tuned — we’ll share the results as soon as they are announced!
