Seescape in Glenrothes – Reminisce, relaunch & celebrate

Following the refurbishment of our new centre in Glenrothes, we will be hosting two launch events to welcome our clients, volunteers and partners to the new building. The events will take place on:

  • Wednesday 26th October from 2-4pm: This event will be aimed at partner agencies and supporters, and will be hosted by the Provost of Fife, Councillor Jim Leishman MBE
  • Friday 2nd December (time to be confirmed): This event will be relevant for our clients and volunteers, and will also include a Christmas Fayre.

As with many charities, we’ve learned a lot from the Covid-19 pandemic and started to think about new ways of doing things and new ways of delivering services. The events are therefore also an opportunity to find out about our new and updated services, including:

  • our new Accessible Technology display and demonstration area
  • our purpose-built rehabilitation area, including a large display of aids and equipment to support those with visual impairment
  • a welcoming social area for those who want to pop in for a chat or cup of tea
  • our filter assessment service, offering assessments and filters for anyone (regardless of whether you have a visual impairment)
  • find out about our Community Engagement service, including our befriending service, social groups and our new Community Activities project
  • our storyboard of the charity’s 156-year history from Fife Society for the Blind to Seescape.

Drinks and nibbles will be available at both events.

If you would like to come to the October event, please register your place here. Please sign up to our newsletter here if you’d like to receive updates about our Christmas event in December.

Please do bring along any leaflets about your own services and we can add them to our resource area.
